Verse: “He has forgiven you all trespasses; blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to His cross.”
It is Finished
No piece of art could ever capture the magnitude of the message of the finished work of the cross — this is my attempt. The scroll is the “handwriting of ordinances that was against us” mentioned in the book of Colossians.
You can know that all your sins were on that list, and when Jesus was nailed to the cross the curse of the Law was nailed there with Him. The way is now open through the torn veil, which is Christ, into God’s glorious and Holy presence, symbolized by the Ark of the Covenant.
“Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.” (Hebrews 10:22)
